SSUK worked strategically with South Ayrshire Council’s ICT department and their Educations Projects Team to deliver a significant refresh of their classroom technology during spring and summer 2020.
The refresh involved replacing ageing interactive whiteboards and projectors with around 200 of Promethean’s top of the range 75” ActivPanel Titanium interactive displays. In addition, SSUK provided height adjustable wall-mounts and mobile trolleys across the primary schools to ensure they were suitable for all teachers and pupils.
SSUK took care of all logistics to allow the council to purchase and store the products locally, which let them use their budget to purchase the products in March 2020 when budgets allowed but wait until the optimum time for installation.
The COVID-19 lockdown at end of March delayed the proposed roll out, however SSUK worked collaboratively with the Council to reschedule the roll out to when restrictions would allow. All work was carried out in line with the constantly changing Government rules, and the latest changes in industry health and safety guidance during the roll-out.
A full turnkey solution was supplied from SSUK; we helped specify the products, carried out all pre-install surveys and planned all work. Work was completed over a relatively short period of time on the sites, requiring strong planning, resource management and project management.
