After discussions with senior partners in Glasgow Life as well as the leisure centre management team we designed LED baton lighting around the bulkhead in the centre of the room ceiling. A mirrorball with 4 x corner spotlights was installed to allow additional effects such as Tea dancing classes and high energy dance classes. All lighting is controlled using a touch panel installed on the corner wall which has 15 x preprogrammed lighting scenes.
Due to the condition of the existing audio system, we were able to utilise the client’s existing speakers and install at a new position. The amplifier, mixer and associated audio equipment was installed in a rack unit in the equipment cupboard and controlled via a wall touch panel mounted beside the lighting controller. An audio connection plate was fitted at this position to allow users to connect independent sources to the system such as radio microphones and MP3/phone devices.
